What to do at Camp Sparkle, part 1

I think it would be really awesome to have some prepared video that we could watch and—possibly—talk about, and it's not something people can throw together in five minutes, so.

I'd like to propose that we have A Boy For Five Minutes. A montage of the most awesome moments of the sparkly boy of your choice, in the opinion of whoever puts it together. Maximum of five minutes long—and I know that's going to mean some hard, hard choices, yes!

Who's up for this? We have more than two months, so there should be time to track down your favourite moments and figure out how to put them together, I think.

It's time to claim your sparkly boy of choice.

AJ claimed, astonishingly, by [livejournal.com profile] trumpeterofdoom ;-)

Brian equally astonishingly, claimed by [livejournal.com profile] bubbleforest ;-)

I'm also, and perhaps more controversially, going to suggest we have a "pimping" session, in which you can show five minutes of footage from another fandom, in order to demonstrate to those who don't care just Why we should be fascinated by... whoever. Education time!

Given the generally organic flow of Camp Sparkle, I'd say the Random Splinter Groups are pretty much exactly that...two people start talking about X subject, and other people overhear and feel that subject is interesting and join in the discussion (or video watching, or whatever.) Whether or not the subject of the moment is specifically Pop or Something Else is sort of irrelevant.

Perhaps we need a dry erase board in the kitchen (or wherever the most-common gathering point is, but I think that's ALWAYS been the kitchen so far, hasn't it?) where Interested Parties could write a note that they intend to do Such And Such a thing in X Room in ten minutes, or tomorrow at noon or whatever? It's certainly possible other people might be interested in various Splinter Activities that they simply weren't aware were happening. And if one of them is discussing some Other Fandom, perhaps someone who isn't normally bothered to investigate could drop by to see if their interest could be drawn in. Bothering to investigate is much easier when all you have to do is walk to a room and lurk. *g*
