a couple of questions

I have a couple of questions for you all:

First, since I wasn't there last year, is there anything special I need to pack? Stuff like coat hangers for example? Also, since my strongest memory of the house we stayed in two years ago is of slowly dying of cold, what about indoor temperatures in this house? Should I pack woolly socks and thick sweaters or will ordinary indoor wear do?

Secondly, anything I should bring from Sweden? Swedish milk chocolate of course, but anything else? Ahlgrens bilar maybe?

Camp Sparkle Day Trips

We're planning this year,s day trips, and this is what we're proposing at the moment:

On the Saturday and Sunday, there is the Derbyshire Local Food Fair at Hardwick Hall. We were planning a trip to Hardwick Hall this year anyway, and although Saturday and Sunday are traditionally pure sparkle days, we thought we'd see if people would be interested in a trip out on Sunday instead.

Not too far away is Sudbury Hall and the National Museum of Childhood, which we thought might make a good destination for a trip on Tuesday. Then perhaps on Wednesday, anyone who is interested in another day out could go into Nottingham. This year, I'll try to make a list of things to do there in advance.

ETA: Or go somewhere other than Nottingham by train. Basically -- go somewhere under your own power. :-)

Roll up, roll up! Camp Sparkle 2011 Registration!

Camp Sparkle 2011 registrations are now open.

To remind everyone, Camp Sparkle this year runs from 20th-27 May, and will be held at Beech Hill House, in Alfreton, Derbyshire, UK.

Exact prices for accommodation will depend on the number of people attending, but it will be around 60-70 UKP per person for the whole week. Shorter stays will be priced up proportionately. Food will be extra (~40 UKP for the whole week), and we'll once again be organizing transport to and from airports, which will cost ~20 UKP.

We won't be taking deposits, as that's worked out okay for the last two years. You'll need to pay the full amount about a month before Camp Sparkle.

Please don't sign up unless you're 100% sure you're coming, and conversely, if you are 100% sure you're coming, please sign up as soon as you can. The house can hold up to 23. If more people than that want to register, then places will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.

Camp Sparkle 2011

Camp Sparkle 2011 has been booked. We've taken the week of the 20th-27th May, and we'll be going back to Beech Hill House, in Alfreton, Derbyshire, UK.

Camp Sparkle 2011

Pen and I are currently planning that Camp Sparkle 2011 will take place again at Beech Hill House in Derbyshire. As weeks there are already being booked for next year, we'd like to get our booking in soon.

With that in mind, we'd like to ask you guys what week you'd prefer. This isn't any kind of commitment, just trying to establish what week would be the best to give the maximum number of people a chance to make it.
