Who's going to cook? We'll happily take responsibility for the weekend, but it would be nice to try out some Other Foods during the remainder of the week. Like, maybe the Finnish Contingent would like to produce something one evening, for example? We can figure out what ingredients are not likely to be available locally in time for you to pack whatever might be necessary... It doesn't have to be an example of Your National Cuisine, of course, anyone is welcome to produce, oh, spaghetti with red sauce or whatever you feel up to cooking in quantity.
Any volunteers?

Date: 2009-04-05 04:10 pm (UTC)I would also love to cook something but I've never actually cooked for a larger quantity of people so I don't know if I could do it. But then again, how hard can it be, right? *is jinxing herself all to hell*

Date: 2009-04-05 10:17 pm (UTC)One of the things I learned from past experience of large-scale catering is that pasty and dough are amongst the things which can be tricky. It often better to make several smaller batches than to try one huge one, as otherwise the mixing and handling can end up with the pasty getting really over-worked.

Date: 2009-04-06 05:15 am (UTC)You can ask Terri's opinion of my Poor Man's Polynesian, and I can do Asian and Cajun style rice dishes...if Outi's got pizza covered, I could probably do burgers, or maybe a chef's salad...
..really, I cook. Buy some stuff and throw me at the kitchen; I'll come up with something. (I lean towards rice with meat as a standard dish...chicken, shrimp, beef, doesn't really matter. A little ginger, some soy sauce, I'll go to town. And I can probably bring the soy sauce.)
