There is only ONE WEEK TO GO! YAY! I'm so excited!
There are still a few payments which haven't come though. If you haven't sent your payment off yet, or let me know when you'll be paying, it would be awesome if you could do that asap.
Anna, Pen recommended I liaise with you regarding the meal planning for Camp. It doesn't matter to me which day I cook supper, but I was curious as to what might be on hand. Pen thought my RicePlus suggestion sounded good, so...will there be rice on the shopping list? And some sort of meat to go with it? The kind doesn't really matter, as long as it's not fish. *g* Poultry, red meat, shrimp (well, pre-cooked shrimp, like salad shrimp; I've never actually cooked raw shrimp before), it doesn't matter to me. I was just curious what you planned on buying, as I generally take those two ingredients and add various spices to result in Cajun or Szechwan or whatever-style rice dish. I know a kitchen is supplied with the cottage, but what about spices/condiments? I can bring ginger & soy sauce (I think; if the soy sauce can be obtained in the UK, that might be easier), and those are my two "main" extras, but I was wondering what else I could anticipate being on-hand. On the other hand, I'm more than willing to improvise with whatever's handy when it's my turn to cook; I just want to make sure there's something there for me to work WITH. I wouldn't want to use up foodstuffs that someone else had earmarked for the specific dish they're contributing.
Oh, and as far as meat goes, if you buy some for my dish, it doesn't need a lot. I'd be making a rice dish with meat, not the other way around. A few ounces of meat per person would do fine, so one pound per 3-4 people at Camp (except chalcopyrite, since she's vegetarian) would be plenty.
I realize it's after 10pm for you, oops, but as long as you can respond to this before Tuesday evening, I'll be able to plan accordingly. And if you can't; I'll just have to fake it when it's my turn in the kitchen. I fake almost everything else I do, too, so no big deal for me. ;D
