Any Requests? Part Two
May. 8th, 2011 10:57 pmOkay, time to start planning...including luggage.
I'll certainly be bringing Pixy Stix (unless Anna still has them covered), but aside from that, does anyone have any specificmedicinal American Junk Food requests? Blow Pops? Any other "famous from footage/fic" items? Anything you've heard of in a story or interview but had no idea what it actually was? Or just anything that you remember from Camps past that you'd like to see again.
Chime in and Let Me Know!

Date: 2011-05-09 04:12 am (UTC)BLOW POPS PLEASE. I wanna say gum in general but I think I can get my fill with the stuff in the UK, heh. Oh oh some sweet tarts would be awesome!

Date: 2011-05-09 06:04 am (UTC)And yeah, I figured Blow Pops ought to make it again, heh.

Date: 2011-05-09 10:25 am (UTC)Also, some boxes of sweet tarts please!
What other ones did you bring the last time?

Date: 2011-05-10 03:40 am (UTC)What did I bring last time...oi. Ummm...
..Twinkies, Lemonheads, Jolly Ranchers, Dots, Twizzlers, Hershey's Kisses, Hershey's Minis Assortment (the "fun size" Halloween-type mini-bars, original, dar, rice crispies, and peanut), and the assortment of single-serving breakfast cereals.
What else is distinctly American that hasn't been imported? Tootsie rolls or Tootsie pops, maybe?

Date: 2011-05-10 07:31 am (UTC)I'm also bringing along some...you guys would probably call it pork jerky. To me it is nothing less than manna and the best thing about Chinese New year.

Date: 2011-05-10 03:49 am (UTC)Actually, you could check something German for me...apparently, the Power Rangers have only ever been released in complete seasons on DVD in Germany? Is the Power Rangers In Space season available, and is the original English language an option if it is, or is the German DVD release only dubbed or something? —Not that I'd want you to pick one up for me; I'm just exploring options and looking for information.

Date: 2011-05-10 05:10 am (UTC)I just checked Amazon.de and they do have Power Rangers in Space, the complete season on 5 DVDs for 23,97 €. And the good thing about German DVDs is that you can always choose languages between dubbed German and English :) . Let me know if you need me to pick it up for you as I already leave early next Monday.

Date: 2011-05-10 06:21 am (UTC)(On second thought, I'm assuming you can get a copy far cheaper than I could get one shipped to the US, duh.)
That price converts to about $35, so I'll just convert that to British Pounds and bring it with me to Camp to give to you, less the price of a set of measuring cups. Will that work for you?

Date: 2011-05-10 09:53 pm (UTC)And yes, $35 in Pounds - the price of the measuring cups totally works for me, thanks! :D

And I know you're going to love hanging out with Terri before Camp. Her whole family, neighborhood, and town were tons of fun to spend a few days in!

Date: 2011-05-12 08:55 pm (UTC)Thanks so much for getting them for me!
The uni & cathedral in Newcastle are gorgeous, and you should definitely stop by the pub at the beach for a drink or a meal, it was so neat!
(Of course, I'd never seen the ocean or been out of the country before when I went, so pretty much even the ROCKS were neat, but still!)
