pensnest: bright-eyed baby me (Camp Sparkle Death Cake)
[personal profile] pensnest posting in [community profile] campsparkle
Thinking about next week's cooking - I'm going to assume shepherd's/fish/veggie pies as usual, unless there are screams of woe, but what about death cake? Do you want death cake or is it time for a change? (I make a very fine Baileys cheesecake, for example.)

Errrm, I rather feel Death Cake is Required By Tradition, at this point...but Other Things are delicious as well, and we all know you're an excellent cook. How complicated is Death Cake? Is that something Someone Else could bake at Camp proper, perhaps pestering you for advice?

Also, are we signing up for Dinner Cooking duty again (perhaps in another post)? —I have a fairly American "Mexican" dish that can easily scale up to feed a small multitude.

OMG YES PLEASE to both, the shepherd's/fish/veggie pies and the death cake! I mean, the Baileys cheesecake sounds delicious as well but it's our 5th year anniversary! You can't break traditions on anniversaries! We can try new stuff next year? :D

I love your shepherd's pie! A lot! :D

And I've seen [livejournal.com profile] nopseud's brilliant suggestion to have to cakes which I also fully support! *g* I can help stir the batter or something!

Death Cake or Bailey's Cheesecake. Does that have to be an either/or?

Diets do not exist at Camp, so I say BOTH OMG YAY! And I look forward to your pies every year!

I think I'm going to be a problem for the cooks this year since I'm trying to avoid gluten. I'm not fanatical about it but ordinary bread and pasta are among the stuff I'm doing my best to keep away from. We haven't had anyone that's been sensitive to gluten at Camp before, have we? Maybe I should post about it so that people will know?

Even though I won't be eating it, I'm still putting my vote in for death cake, because it's important and part of Camp!

It is quite impossible to say no to cake. Also cheesecake. And pie. :D

Well, it's not like I'm going to say no to any kind of cake. :D And your pies are delicious, I could eat them every day for the entire week.

We should probably have a sign-up post for claiming cooking days, too. I was hoping to escape the rota this year by virtue of providing food on Tuesday, but I guess we'll see if there enough volunteers :-)
