Crazy things to do at Camp?

I know we've usually kept ourselves pretty well entertained, but let me know what you think about these ideas!

1. Bobblehead / marionette adventures
Does anyone have sparkly bobbleheads or marionettes (preferably with No Strings Attached) that we could take on a tour of Wales and take pictures of them doing things?
Doesn't even have to be a full set, I think even just two would do nicely. Easier to carry around anyway.

2. Cookie decorating
Once upon a time pensnest made a magnificent set of gingerbread boybanders, and Nick's crotch was too hard to eat. Ahem.
Anyway, everybody who wants to could participate in the decorating and eating, but we need somebody to find a suitable recipe (gingerbread or other) and a cutter (boybander-shaped? other?), make sure the ingredients and decorations go on the shopping list, and make the dough.

3. Photo scavenger hunt!
Each team would get a list of things they need to take a picture of/with during the week and the team who manages to do the most wins the game!
I think I'd like to organize this one (unless nobody wants to play), but could probably use some help with coming up with enough fun items. :)

4. Sparkly lyrics quiz!
We do great singalongs on the minibus, but how well do you actually know the lyrics? Could be played in teams or alone.
Whoever organizes this one gets to decide whether to just include BSB and NSYNC songs, or solo albums as well. Example questions: You hit me faster than a ___________ or What song has the word lynx in it? or whatever you want.

I just remembered that my marionettes are forever just in a box so I guess I wouldn't mind cutting their strings. They're in the stage outfits.

If you cut off their strings you'll have to put a spike up their, uh, behinds, or they'll never stand up. But if they keep their strings we can (possibly) pose them as though they are dancing!

Would you like to be in charge of the lyrics quiz? Not that many people seem to be interested in it - yet - but I'm sure we'll be able to talk people into it. At least all the froggies. :D Me and Saba have offered to help, but that might disqualify us as players so you should probably keep us out of the actual question making part at least. I can look into buzzers tho. Or maybe people could use their phones as buzzers???

Also, you'll be bringing your BSB board game, right?

I have ninja gingerbread cutters. These will do Very Nicely for sparkly dancing boy gingerbread, if someone can find a good recipe. I also have a selection of excellent food colourings, so we can make bowlfuls of icing sugar in a dozen colours.

I also have Nsync marionettes—Justin and Lance are big, the other three are small. But if anyone can produce bobbleheads, they'd probably be more versatile.

I would like not to organise any of these things! :-D And I recommend we have smallish teams, but randomly drawn. (I think I was tramatised by the Pub Quiz at Redemption at which I could answer about *one* question the entire evening. The rest of the team made a non-humiliating showing!)

That was kinda the point of this exercise, yes. :D But we need enthusiastic participants too, of course!

Apparently the bobbleheads are quite heavy, which is not good if we want to carry them around on the daytrips and such. But the marionettes have strings which become tangled so very easily! Anyway, I'll keep in mind that you have them just in case. :)

On the positive side, fifteen pages isn't really—, the marionettes are more posable than bobbleheads. We will just have to cherish them and treat them gently.

I made gingerbread hearts once, the dough was surprisingly easy to make if I remember correctly. And the ingredients are simple - apart from gingerbread spice mix, which is probably not available in summer but I can bring since I mixed my own for Christmas cookies.

I have the bobbleheads but they're quite heavy and I definitely can't bring them myself since I can't drag them around on my back for a week before Camp. I have the marionettes in stage outfits, too. Can't bring them, either, but they're 18 cm long and not that heavy so I could send them ahead.

Would you like to be in charge of the cookie project? Pen & Nopseud have some good ideas in their comments, and Fleur & Saba have offered to help!

Good point about the bobbleheads, didn't realise they would obviously be quite heavy. But no worries, other people have offered their marionettes!

I should have kept my mouth shut. ;) I can do that. I like baking so I don't mind making them from scratch unless people prefer the bakery. Pen's ninja gingerbread cutters and food colorings would probably be very helpful.

I should add that I definitely need people to help with decorating faces and such, because if I do it we'll end up with unidentifiable blobs of icing in various places.

I didn't mean you have to do everything! Just make sure the dough gets made and that there are decorating materials available! And then whoever wants to can decorate their own cookie or two. Or ten. :D

Also, you really can say no, I'm not running low on volunteers at the moment. :D

Yes, sure! I was just joking, don't worry. :) Although I did think you meant we'd make cookies for everyone, not each their own. Well, I guess that doesn't matter in the end, I doubt that anyone will be denied a cookie either way. ;)

I will put the cutters and food colouring into the Camp Sparkle box and bring them along.

I think we should be flexible about things we can do indoors. We should make a rough timetable of outings, with the option of delaying them by a day if it rains and there's a possibility of better weather another day. Then, if we get a rainy day, we can do cookies. ALthough if we get ALL SUNSHINE like last year*
we can just pick a day for the cookies anyway.

I have a full set of the large and small marionettes, although they all have their strings (and I never even took the small ones out of the box.) I should think we'll be able to bring them as long as there's space in the car. I also have the three Nsync Barbies that I could bring, too -- as long as everyone promises to be careful not to lose their little shoes!

There's actually a bakery just a few doors up from Camp. I'm sure we'd be able to order some undecorated gingerbread men if people would like to do the decorating without the baking.

I think the small marionettes might be the easiest to carry around on day trips and such. Anyway, good to know you have them, and we can discuss who brings what later on. :)

All these ideas are awesome!!! And even though I did not check the box thingy, I can probably be talked into the lyric quiz (just don't expect any singing).

I may be able to find my BK BSB people, if we want to do crossover pictures with the marionettes. But if someone else knows where theirs are, that would also be nice. I know I had them at some point, just don't know which box they are in..

I also have Ninjabread cookie cutters, if having a second set would be useful (and it's not like I'm doing anything with them, heh.)

I also have a Best Buy!JC Bobblehead, with the red coat, but I'm not sure if I still have his packaging. If I don't, he can still be secured for travel with bubblewrap and such.

Re: marionettes.

Having had the experience of packing them up and moving them when we moved house, I've decided against bringing my marionettes or Barbies. I don't think they'll survive having adventures around Wales undamaged and with no bits lost, and I'd rather not risk it.

I'm not sure where my marionettes are—and I have three of one size and two of the other. I think the Lambs are big and the others small, which, okay. If I can find them, I'm happy to bring them to have adventures.

(Saba has offered to bring hers, but obviously has limited luggage space.)
