pensnest: bright-eyed baby me (Camp Sparkle Optional)
[personal profile] pensnest posting in [community profile] campsparkle
I think it will save a lot of time and panic if room assignments are sorted beforehand, as the last thing we want when we arrive is a period of confusion with everyone dashing about trying to figure out where to sleep. We want to sit down for a nice cup of tea and a good giggle instead. I propose to dash about solo instead, putting labels on doors when we get there, so that everyone can find her/his room fairly handily. If at that point (or subsequently during the weekend) anyone wants to swap, you can sort yourselves out, I'm sure.

So. Each bedroom contains a double bed, and most of them also contain something that will turn into a single bed. Basically, we're going to be in threes. However, there'll be some twos, and I've confirmed with the caretaker that one of the rooms will actually sleep four.

I think there's already been a post advising everyone to figure out who they'll want to share with, so most of you will already have done that. Please reply to this post with the names of your bedroom-group. Incidentally, if you have no clue where you might fit in, don't worry, I'll find you somewhere (if you don't mind sharing a bed with someone you've just met, say so, otherwise I'll assume not).

One thing: it occurs to me that our European participants might well choose to share bedrooms based on native language! In which case, if there are four of you from one country (I really can't remember if that's the case) you will get priority on the 4-bedroom.

What she said. We shared a bed before. And of course we'll still have space in our hearts room for one or two more, if anybody wants to room with us. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] bubbleforest and I would like to share please. Could you put us in a two? You're welcome to put one more person with us, though.

I have no preferences on room partners at all but I move around a lot when I sleep so if I'm sharing a bed it should be with someone who doesn't mind. (Lancecat used to squeak indignatly every time I moved but now he's resigned and keeps to the farthest end where he's comparatively undisturbed :-)

She sent me a message saying 'do you want Charlie to get you anything dairy free for camp sparkle?' and I said 'yes rice milk!' and she said 'okey pokey cokey' and that was the last of it!

Thank you :D

I was totally supposed to tell you yesterday but then you started have a nervous breakdown and I asked my flist what I should get indellibly marked on my body so, yes. Charlie got you rice milk

And it was 'okey cokey pokey' I think you'll find. 'Okey pokey cokey' makes no sense!

Because 'okey cokey pokey' is completely logical.

I'll share with [livejournal.com profile] archie_gremlin -- I think there are a couple of rooms which are just a double.

p.s. Did you have the floor plans uploaded somewhere? If so, it might be a good idea to link to them so people can get a better idea of how things are laid out.

How strict is your non-dairy? The southern fried chicken recipe I've been experimenting with marinades the meat overnight in buttermilk, but I can do you a couple without the marinading step if you'd prefer that, no trouble at all.

If you have any dairy free margarine (which is the only other staple I'm likely to use over the weekend) then that would be fab. I may also go on an expedition to the nearest big supermarket there to see if they have the swedish glace ice cream substitute if there is going to be lots of ice cream going around (so I don't feel left out *sniffle*).

I think I should be fine with that. I'm as strict as possible, but sometimes I'm either not as disciplined as I should be (hides remnants of freebie chocolate from LoveFilm) and sometimes I just don't even realise the dairy is there (Japanese curry). So yes, as long as it's a very minor part of the recipe, that should be fine.

Dairy free margarine I can totally do. You want a specific brand or can I just throw in whatever they have in my Tesco? Let me know.

There is a Tesco in Ludlow itself, we can definitely take a drive over there for treats for you, no worries :) (I'd offer to throw some in at this end but I doubt it'd last four hours in my car boot without turning into a runny mess, heh.)

Hi! I'm a spare person. I've not met anybody before so I'm not really bothered who I end up with*. I don't want to be awkward, but I'd rather not share a bed if possible, because I have this shyness thing.

*so long as it's not actually Kevin Richardson. Your icon is giving me the fear. Somebody promised me he wasn't coming!

I'll sleep with anyone! [livejournal.com profile] turloughishere and/or [livejournal.com profile] cardalia, maybe? If they'll take me. Or anyone, really.

Re language: I don't think that's really necessary. And maybe we can mix it up for the car ride already? So that the people coming in on the same flight don't all end up in the same car. Just my opinion.

hence the buying it there ;) I would love to take a quick trip into Ludlow if possible. And urm, possibly Orlton Rise if you fancy a quick hour out somewhere. I have a LOT of fond childhood memories from there and kind of want to just poke my nose in ;) If not, no worries.

The AA tells me it's about 45 minutes down the A49. We can certainly go if we have the time on one of the days for a little outing into the countryside :)

Hmmm, well, I'd rather not share a bed, as I'm a horrible tosser and turner what with ny legs. I'm also the only male other than Mr. NoPseud, which could present issues I suppose, but it's probably easiest to just stick Terri and me in a room with more than just a double bed.

You'd think after all this time I'd know where to answer a comment.

Reposting then. If no one else has claimed and it doesn't cause problems, the room with four beds would be fantastic so Alice, Josh and me could share.
