pensnest: bright-eyed baby me (Camp Sparkle Optional)
[personal profile] pensnest posting in [community profile] campsparkle
I think it will save a lot of time and panic if room assignments are sorted beforehand, as the last thing we want when we arrive is a period of confusion with everyone dashing about trying to figure out where to sleep. We want to sit down for a nice cup of tea and a good giggle instead. I propose to dash about solo instead, putting labels on doors when we get there, so that everyone can find her/his room fairly handily. If at that point (or subsequently during the weekend) anyone wants to swap, you can sort yourselves out, I'm sure.

So. Each bedroom contains a double bed, and most of them also contain something that will turn into a single bed. Basically, we're going to be in threes. However, there'll be some twos, and I've confirmed with the caretaker that one of the rooms will actually sleep four.

I think there's already been a post advising everyone to figure out who they'll want to share with, so most of you will already have done that. Please reply to this post with the names of your bedroom-group. Incidentally, if you have no clue where you might fit in, don't worry, I'll find you somewhere (if you don't mind sharing a bed with someone you've just met, say so, otherwise I'll assume not).

One thing: it occurs to me that our European participants might well choose to share bedrooms based on native language! In which case, if there are four of you from one country (I really can't remember if that's the case) you will get priority on the 4-bedroom.

Camp Sparkle! Squee!

She sent me a message saying 'do you want Charlie to get you anything dairy free for camp sparkle?' and I said 'yes rice milk!' and she said 'okey pokey cokey' and that was the last of it!

Thank you :D

And it was 'okey cokey pokey' I think you'll find. 'Okey pokey cokey' makes no sense!

Because 'okey cokey pokey' is completely logical.

This is why Becca sucks ;)

You are most welcome. (Was there anything else you wanted?)

If you have any dairy free margarine (which is the only other staple I'm likely to use over the weekend) then that would be fab. I may also go on an expedition to the nearest big supermarket there to see if they have the swedish glace ice cream substitute if there is going to be lots of ice cream going around (so I don't feel left out *sniffle*).

Dairy free margarine I can totally do. You want a specific brand or can I just throw in whatever they have in my Tesco? Let me know.

There is a Tesco in Ludlow itself, we can definitely take a drive over there for treats for you, no worries :) (I'd offer to throw some in at this end but I doubt it'd last four hours in my car boot without turning into a runny mess, heh.)

hence the buying it there ;) I would love to take a quick trip into Ludlow if possible. And urm, possibly Orlton Rise if you fancy a quick hour out somewhere. I have a LOT of fond childhood memories from there and kind of want to just poke my nose in ;) If not, no worries.

The AA tells me it's about 45 minutes down the A49. We can certainly go if we have the time on one of the days for a little outing into the countryside :)

How strict is your non-dairy? The southern fried chicken recipe I've been experimenting with marinades the meat overnight in buttermilk, but I can do you a couple without the marinading step if you'd prefer that, no trouble at all.

I think I should be fine with that. I'm as strict as possible, but sometimes I'm either not as disciplined as I should be (hides remnants of freebie chocolate from LoveFilm) and sometimes I just don't even realise the dairy is there (Japanese curry). So yes, as long as it's a very minor part of the recipe, that should be fine.
