Typical - the minute I make a post in here, I get new information which...

Okay. I've now had confirmation of the cottage rent, which is up a whopping 40% since last year. We'd factored in a rise along the same pattern as the 2005 price progress, but...

Never mind. What it means is that our 15 Camp Sparkle participants are looking at £75 each rather than £65. And again, if we get more than 15, the price goes down. And it's still a fantastic bargain for a place which looks so nice! (Did you notice, *bathrobes* included? Hee!)

I've also received a floor plan of the place, from which it is clear that all the bedrooms have double beds. Several of them also have at least one single. So, guys - you can start thinking about who you want to room with, and whether or not you're happy to share a bed. Also, there are a couple of bedrooms on the ground floor, so if anyone needs/prefers to avoid stairs, let us know when you sign up.

Just to remind you, the cottage is here, do take a look if you haven't already done so!

Registration opening soon!

Just how long is Camp Sparkle going to be? I've got a friend coming down from the states and we're supposed to frolic around London in the week after Camp Sparkle, so.

Also, about rooming, could you put up the floor plan or list the number of beds in a room? Or is this too early and should I instead be worrying about something else? (I don't even want to think about the cost yet. I'll just save 5 quid every week until then or something...)

Could you please? Better than four hours on a train with two changes. Also, wanna room?

I'm 90% sure I'll be driving down. I may get you to catch an early train into Retford or Newark (otherwise I'll be going north to go south and it'll add two hours onto my journey) or you're more than welcome to crash here on the Thursday and we'll leave at some ridiculous hour of the morning on Friday. It's just over three hours from here :)

I'm already sharing with Becca but some of the rooms look like they have a double bed and a single so, if we can work it out with everyone else of course, you're more than welcome to room with us :)

Turns out I should have checked with my other half first before offering room, Sam already had dibs on rooming with B and I. I'm not too sure how the room arrangements are going to work but S has first choice but if there is room you're more than welcome to join us too :):)

It finishes on the Monday -- I imagined that we'll have to be out of the cottage by lunchtime on Monday at the latest.

We'll get onto the room list.

I just looked at the web page again and noticed that there's a barbeque! Such a pity that we're going to be there in March, not really barbeque season... And one of the bedroom's got a jacuzzi! And there's an AGA in the kitchen! I've never seen one in Real Life before :-)

I'm so excited about this!!

A British institution :-) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGA_cooker You can see it in the 360 panorama of the kitchen, it's the black cooker on one of the short walls.

We should at least try to use it one day, so that us furriners can get that Genuine British Experience ;-)

I have used an AGA before (not for anything particularly complicated), my Aunt has one. Though I seem to remember that you need to poke at their innards with a stick and put more coal down the back every night (and it's a bit of a faff).

[livejournal.com profile] seiyaharris and I will share :)

£75 for a weekend really isn't that terrible. If we were going to a hotel it'd be a lot more. You guys are awesome for putting this all together. If you need a hand with anything, just yell.

I'm looking at trains but I'll more than likely drive over (4 1/2 hours on a train with three changes or three hours in my car?) if anyone from Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire area wants a ride.

Whee! Is it March yet?

The thing we'll most likely need help with is pickups from stations and airports, so if you're planning to bring a car then that would be great. Nearer the time we'll try and get arrivals and so on coordinated efficiently.

That sounds good. My car is tiny but stations and airport runs I'll certainly be able to make should you need me :)

I'll be driving down from the NW (Cheshire - Northwich/Knutsford kind of area) if anyone needs a lift.

I'm so looking forward to this *insert big cheesy grin here* and to meeting everyone!
