Camp Sparkle sign-ups 2014

We are now taking registrations for Camp Sparkle 2014!

Date: Friday 13th June to Friday 20th June 2014.
Place: The Ship Inn, Old Colwyn, UK.

Exact prices for accommodation will depend on the number of people attending, but it will be somewhere around 110-120 UKP per person for the whole week, depending on how many people attend. Shorter stays will be priced up proportionately. Food will be extra (~45 UKP for the whole week).

Transport this year is going to be slightly more complicated than normal, because Pen won't be making pickups from the usual southern UK airports on Friday. If you missed the lengthy discussion of travel options, you can find it here:

As usual, now, we won't be taking deposits, and you'll need to pay the full amount about a month before Camp Sparkle.

The house can hold up to 22 in real beds, plus 12 in a bunk bed dorm, plus a couple of double sofa beds. There is oodles of space. But, please, don't delay signing up if you're sure you're coming, because of the trickier travel planning this year.

I wish I could come, but alas, alas... :(

The reason for it is good: New job! YAY! Ah, yes, for those that didn't know - when I came back from Camp last year I found my notice of cancellation. My ex-boss: full of style and so. Since I still had ALL the vacation days - the time for Camp was all overtime - I didn't need to go into work anymore. Frankly, I was very much ok with that, since that job has been making me unhappy for quite some time.

So I looked for a new job, worked a bit in a comic store (fun!) and have this new fulltime job since the start of March. I sell stationery, regular and luxury (as in, stuff for school and the office and also Mont Blanc fountain pens. This? Is pretty awesome.

My coworkers are great, my direct boss is great, I get the same money as before AND more vacation. \o/

But of course their vacation schedule has already been made and someone else already has time off then. :/ (And they don't have to give me time off in my first 6 months anyway. They probably will, because otherwise I'll still have 5 weeks of vacation time in September and that won't be useful either. But not when someone else has already vacation scheduled.)

So, I'm very sad that I won't be able to come. But the reason is good. :)

Not being able to come to Camp is pretty much the only not-good thing about this job. (But if I didn't have it I probably couldn't come either because of money, so.)
