(I hope I made this post clear enough)
Hello fellow campers! Our weekend of boyband debauchery is but only ONE WEEK away! Now down to the business of footage watching. If I'm not wrong we'll just whatever footage whenever we feel like it, but for this to work we need to have a library of available footage to work with. The cottage will have a big screen TV and a DVD player, but let's assume that the DVD player can only play Region 2 discs.
nopseud and
archie_gremlin are bringing along a laptop, I believe, and it'll be possible to hook the laptop up to the big screen TV so that we can watch the clips that might be on data DVDs or external harddrives.
I'm bringing along some burnt data DVDs of almost all the BSB footage I have (the interesting bits, and of course they're up for grabs for whomever wants them afterward), but I was wondering more about the official videos for *NSYNC, BSB and Justin. Most of my DVDs are Region 1s, and all of my BSB videos are on VCD, which might not play on a normal DVD player. It'll be possible to play them on a laptop on WMP, but even then the resolution will be quite bad.
I think
nopseud might be able to cover the bases for the Justin and *NSYNC DVDs, but I think she'll have to bring quite a lot of stuff for the weekend, so if anyone else would be willing to bring along their copies that would be brilliant. If the VCD option doesn't work, we might need BSB DVD back ups. I'm going to put a list of them under a cut, and if 5 or 6 of you bring one DVD each, we can cover all the bases. I'll still bring my folder of discs as back ups, but I'm sure you'd like to watch the hi-def videos rather than my crappy VCDs. :)
So, please answer these few questions in the comments to this entry. The idea is for us to have a biggish library of footage to pick and choose from to watch, rather than going "Let's watch clip X now!" at the cottage and realising that no one's got it in any form. I'll also be editing the post to note down who is bringing which videos.
1. What kind of footage would you like to watch at Camp Sparkle, and which specific clips?
2. Do you want themed nights (eg one night *NSYNC, then one night of BSB), or just random footage watching?
3. Will you be willing/able to bring any sparkly DVDs with you for everyone to watch? And if so, which ones? (as far as possible, DVDs should be Region 2)
4. Any other suggestions/questions?
BSB
Backstreet Boys: The Video (1997)
Backstreet Boys Live In Concert (1997) (aka the Germany concert video)

Homecoming in Orlando (1999) (aka The One Where AJ Humps The Stage)
Around The World (100 Hour Tour) (2000)
Backstreet Boys: The Greatest Hits (all the music videos) (2001)
*NSYNC
We Are Nsync (1998)
*N The Mix (1999)

Live from Madison Square Garden (2000)

The Reel Nsync (2002)
On The Line
Lovewrecked
Justified: The Videos
Justin Timberlake Live in London
In addition, if anyone has any *NSYNCLand DVDs, you're welcome to bring them along. The more we have, the more choices we have! And if you've got any more questions (or if I haven't been coherent in this post), just comment away.

Date: 2007-03-09 10:32 pm (UTC)2. I'm good with both themed and random.
3. I have no idea where most of my sparkly footage is, I'm afraid. The only one I have to hand is Pop Odyssey.
I'm bringing Brit pop DVDs (McFly and Busted) to pimp to
unsuspecting victimsfolks. Ooh, and, I have Aaron's Pop Star film, which is the best kind of crack.no subject

Date: 2007-03-10 02:51 pm (UTC)McFly's Wonderland DVD has the best footage for pimping the McFlusted slash. I was going to put together a lot of clips of them being slashy (and naked) until I realised that they'd already done that all for me on their official DVDs! They talk about snuggling and how much they enjoy taking off each others clothes.

Date: 2007-03-09 11:53 pm (UTC)We'll bring along a multiregion DVD player, which I know will at least play all the official DVDs. I also have Little Red Riding Hood, with Joey, on DVD.
I have...some of the Nsyncland DVDs (can't check which right now), plus I'll bring my other footage on the external hard drive (lists of all the files I have are here and here, if anyone wants to watch something in particular). It's all pretty much exclusively Nsync, though, I'm afraid.

Date: 2007-03-10 01:09 am (UTC)Would it be all right with you if you brought all the *NSYNC stuff? I think it's fairly extensive enough unless people want to see stuff like Dick in a Box and most of Justin's SNL's stuff (which is on my list of stuff that people should see).

Date: 2007-03-10 04:00 pm (UTC)Sure, no problem at all.
I pretty sure I actually have more SNL and Dick in a Box too, but the index is a little bit out of date.

Date: 2007-03-11 12:07 am (UTC)I'm not ashamed to admit I own that film. *snicker*
I have to admit I'm pretty much only an *NSYNC fan, but I can appreciate the Boys, too, and we'll just see what else comes up. Even if it's something I'd never watch on my own, watching footage with other fans is ALWAYS fun.
I didn't bring any footage overseas with me, but I =DID= bring sparkly RPG stuff to show Terri that I'd be happy to run if people were interested.

Date: 2007-03-10 12:14 am (UTC)I also have a couple of (data) DVDs with mostly NSync clips, sorted by categories (interviews, appearances in shows like TRL or Much, specials, live clips, ...) in various qualities. I'll probably bring those anyway.
And to answer your questions:
1. It's hard to say which specific clips I'd like to watch, or rather, which I would want other people to bring. Everything I've seen, I also own, and would be more than happy to bring along. I think there are things that we really should watch, though: The Reel NSync, the Much Music interviews with Rick, the Behind the Scenes of On the Line (aka the Holy Grail of JoLa). Probably some more things that I can't remember right now.
2. Don't get me wrong, I Iove the Boys, I do, but I'm leaning more to the NSync side. I'm sure some others do, too, just as some will be more in favor of watching BSB footage. So while I think themed nights is a good idea (and maybe still keep it open, so we can watch specific clips if the mood strikes), it'd be nice to have options, meaning two or more groups watching different things. It might also not always be that easy to get all 21 of us in front of one TV.
3. Uh, see above.

Date: 2007-03-10 01:05 am (UTC)I have a feeling we're all just going to go with the flow and just pick and choose what we want to watch on the night itself, but no harm in feeling out what people want to watch. :)

Date: 2007-03-10 04:03 pm (UTC)Well, the house has mulitiple TVs and DVD players, so we should be able to split up as necessary if people want to watch different things.

Date: 2007-03-10 12:40 am (UTC)I have no footage to bring, except the stuff Becca loaned me. Which off the top of my head contains Joey in Rent and the making of the video for Pop.

Date: 2007-03-10 09:52 am (UTC)1. I'm pretty much good with anything. The good stuff like Oprah, Frank Skinner, Cup My Ballots, the Disney concert segments, etc, I'd definitely love to watch. :) Along with the DVDs, of course!
2. I think random would be better. I hope no one pairs off in groups to watch different bands, because that kind of ... defeats the purpose of coming together, doesn't it? I'd much rather watch stuff together, keeping an open mind for all the SDBs. (Of course, if there's too much footage and we have to group off in order to watch everything, there's not much to do about that.)
3. Bringing the DVDs I listed above. If anyone gets their hands on a VCR player, let me know! I'd be happy to bring those as well.

I like the idea of theme nights.

Nsync's Popod, making the tour, madison square garden, on the line. All region 2, just tell me which ones to bring. I'll also be bringing nopseud a copy of lovewrecked.
